WEATHER REPORT - WINTER'S QUEST Wednesday, January 30, 2008 We're having some CRAZY weather in Northern Ontario today. Rain and snow are blowing horizontally across lake and field. Trees are leaning at perilous angles. Branches are snapping and falling. The sound is haunting and the cats are hiding. Blowing driving snow has been falling for hours now. Driving is impossible due to intermittent white outs and black ice. It rained overnight and the wind brought rapid temperature drops and this flash froze everything. By the end of the day it will have gone from above zero degrees to the equivalent of -20 to -40 across Northern Ontario and into Quebec. IT'S A SNOW DAY, BUT NOT A FUN DAY! This is my personal take on all of this atmospheric turmoil. WINTER’S QUEST The wind it sighed! The wind it blows! When will it stop? No one knows! The rain it fell, The snow it blew! What will be next, I wish I knew! The air was warm, Now it’s cold! The snow did melt, Will this weather hold? January is over, February’s about to begin. Winter is showing us It wants to win! But we know better, Spring’s on its way! And so dear winter ENJOY TODAY! ~ Ruth J Jamieson, Canada 2008 ~
